Adilabad, Sept. 3: More than ailments, it is sexual exploitation that is worrying many tribal girls who stay in the hostels of Tribal Ashram schools. The rampant exploitation of girls came to light when a girl student gave birth to a baby in the hostel of the Rasimetta Ashram School in Jainoor mandal.
Most of the time, the girls don’t dare to complain about the sexual abuse. Often, teachers have turned out to be villains in the sordid saga. Sometimes the girls are exploited by outsiders as well. A student of ashram school of Mahegoan of Sirpur (U) mandal committed suicide by jumping into the well last year, traumatised after being sexually abused.
A.P Govt is introducing 3% interest on student loans for higher education(collage) is a good development. Many times we read bright students are unable to get higher education because of money. Now students can borrow 3% interest loans and payoff after their graduation once they started working. This is how students in many Industrial countries like US, Euroope and Australia study. If this is working in Westren countries, it will also work very well in Inda. It will eliminate the government bureaucracy and also bring dicipline to students. If a student fail to maintain the grade point or pass mark, the loan will discontinue. This fear will make the students more responsible and study hard.
