This seat entails a major introspection in the part of TRS.Not only did TRS loose the seat but has come a poor third.One major component that is hurting the TRS and Telanganavadam here would be the victory of Indrakaran who did not use Telanaganvadam as much as the Congress MLA's in Medak and Warangal district.
TRS/Telangana vadam parties need to do a lot of introspection in here.One might argue that the Gound issue effected the TRS, but the fact remains it is a major setback
Not taking anything away from Nagesh, the result in Alair would have been different if not for the dissident activity in the Congress by Purushotham Reddy and Gutta Sukender Reddy of the TDP.Thoug a victory is to be savoured, what TRS needs to undertstand is that this constituency will see a heavy weight fight in the 2009 elections when Purushotahm Reddy will be in the fray (will not longer be a SC seat).
TRS and Nagesh in particular has to work towards in warding off the impending tough challenge.For now, it is well done Nagesh.
The dissident activity and the presence of political novices in the CPI(M) and the Congress helped the TRS candidate.All in all it is a good victory for the TRS party.What is heartning in here is the majority which is healthy 14,464 votes.
One of the most surprising result of these elections is the victory of Akula Lalita.More than the loss in this constituency TRS should think about its fast disappearing fortunes in the Nizamabad district.It looks like it is completely wiped out of the district.If not anything else it should be a wake up call, a harsh wakeup call at that.
A silverling here would be the loss of Madava, a settler in Dichpalli which might indicate Telangana sentiment.TRS has to work its way through it make any inroads.
Would the presence of Ganga Reddy made a difference ? Maybe no, TRS party's grassroot base is completely eroded in Nizamabad.
Dommat is a good example where good campaging and not undue optimism and arrogance turned the tide for the TRS.Touted as a TDP seat, the TRS candidate backed by Telangana intellectuals left no stone unturned to wrestle the seat back from the TDP.If the TRS and the Telanagana intellectuals had shown the same urguency in some other so called safe seats, things would have been different.
Lot of lessons to be learnt here, but the question is will they (we) learn?
Credible performance by Ramalinga Reddy in the face of a tough opponent in Muthyam Reddy.
Kadiyam Srihari proved to be a master politician.His master stroke of speaking about Telangana won him the election.His cause was helped by the nonh-availability of the TRS candidates for the common people.
The victory at Hanmakonda shows how imporatant the pary candidate is to the victory chances.Riding on the Telangana sentiment is one thing, but it needs to be complemented by the image of the candidate.And that is exactly what happened in Hanmakonda.Good work Vinod Kumar!
Capt.Laximikanth Rao's victoy goes to show all is not lost for the TRS.If careful planning is added to the sentiment factor, TRS might as well bounce back and give the others a run for their money.
Many might not agree to to it but I feel that the loss in Jedcherla more than any constituency is a loss of Telangana Vadam.Though Mallu Ravi being a heavy weight tilted the seat towards the Congress, but the fact that he being a non-local and a strong proponent of Samikya Andhra and close associate of YSR did not stop him for a huge victory shows the failure of Telangana vadam in this constituency.It is a complete failure of the TRS party to get the Telanagan message across.
Though KCR has won the elction, the moot point is the majority.TRS needs to think what changed within a year and a half that the majority changed from 2 lakhs plus to 15,00 votes.
