Disappearing Telnagna Culture:
A people are known by their Culture. The festivals, the food, the music, arts, crafts and the family dealings, the bond between people, the marriages and customs all define that Culture. While it is natural for the culture to go through some transformation as newer influences and the culture of new immigrants are absorbed
A drastic change of the original inhabitants’ culture shift to that of the immigrants is a risk of the loss of identity of them. The Cinema culture of the immigrants from heretofore Andhra, their foods like Idli-sambar, and major staple of rice, the influence of modern media both written and the Television are further promulgating newer cultures. Absorption of newer cultures isn’t all bad.
The danger of completely coming under the influence of immigrant cultures is that you lose your identity as people. This identity is what brings people together. When that identity is lost, it destroys the cohesiveness of that group or region and in testy times, the group strength becomes reduced and may lead to destruction. That is what is happening in Telangana. Apart from a few minor skirmishes between Hindus aqnd Muslims, by far they lived peacefully respecting each others Customs and at times co-mingling and leading to development of mixed festivals, language, etc.
There is general feeling of disunity among Telangana people and consequently the immigrant populations and their elected leaders by virtue of their majority in assembly are holding hostage a population that is rich in natural resources but isn’t using for self improvement but is being used as a colony. So, there is an urgent need to revive, Telangana culture.

Solution:

Each village Sarpanch must allocate budget for Village celebration of festivals.
Festivals like, Krishnastami, Dasara jambiga, Deepavali and village street lighting and competition among the Vadas(neighborhoods for decorations, etc, Bathukamma, Ganesh festivals, Ekadashi, Eddula Panduga, Bonalu, Village outing into the woods for picnics, Peerila panduga, Bagotham, puranam kathalu, Etc. Political partyism in villages must be abolished to eliminate factionism import, the likes of Seema. The endowments department may allocate funds to villages for the revival of such festivals.
Even if state doesn’t fund them Village may tax each house hold and raise funds through collections from Liquor shops and village businesses, and every one having more than two acres of land, etc. These could include newer ways of introducing old foods like food fair in the village where people cook and serve dishes of their choice, with a common entrance fees. What the Sarpanch needs is a Cultural secretary whose job is to plan such cultural events that involve entire village population (without regard to caste).
